Alan Reisman was selected as the new Mayor of Leesburg, following a close 3-2 vote by the city commission. Alan, a lifelong Leesburg resident and current city commissioner, steps into the role with a vision for growth and collaboration. Miss Leesburg Pageant Increases Scholarships to $15,000

The Miss Leesburg Scholarship Pageant announced its 39th annual pageant, scheduled for September 20 at Leesburg High School, will be seeing an substantial increase in scholarships awarded, thanks to the generous support of local sponsors and donors. This year’s event will award $15,000 in scholarships and awards to participants, up from last year’s approximate $5,000. Little, Tiny, and Junior Miss winners will see their scholarships rise from $100 to $250, while Teen Miss Leesburgwill receive a $1,000 scholarship, up from $100. On March 8 and 9, the Leesburg Center for the Arts will host the 48th Leesburg Art Festival . . . this year rechristened the ROTARY Leesburg Arts Festival on Towne Square just off Main Street in downtown Leesburg, Florida, featuring a variety artists and fine crafts persons.
